Jet2.com has announced a major update to its family-friendly travel offering, confirming that children under the age of two will now travel for free.

The change further strengthens Jet2’s position as a leading airline for families and makes it the only UK airline not to charge a fee for under-2s travelling to destinations across Europe, the Canary Islands and the Mediterranean.

Who the New Policy Applies To

The new policy applies to all new bookings made from Friday 22 August 2025. To qualify, children must be under the age of two at the time of travel.

Children under two were already able to travel for free on package holidays booked with Jet2holidays, and this announcement now extends the same benefit to seat-only flights with Jet2.com. This means that all children under two now travel free with Jet2, whether customers are booking a package holiday or flights only.

Changes to Infant and Child Baggage Allowance

Alongside free travel for under-2s, Jet2.com has also introduced a new child and infant equipment policy, effective immediately.

Under the updated rules:

  • No excess baggage charges will apply to child or infant equipment checked into the hold
  • Children under two receive an extra 10kg baggage allowance
  • Customers can check in up to two items per child under two free of charge

Permitted items include:

  • Collapsible pushchair, pram or buggy
  • Car seat or booster seat
  • Baby carrier
  • Travel cot

Jet2 has also confirmed that the 10kg weight limit no longer applies to these child and infant items.
