The sunny climes of Spain have always been the most popular destination for Britons looking for cheap all-inclusive holidays, and the Spanish Tourist Office intends to make sure it stays that way.

It recently launched a new promotional drive for cheap holidays in Spain, revolving around the central idea that Spain is a safe and dependable destination for UK travellers seeking reassurance in these turbulent times.

The Spanish Tourist Office’s UK director Enrique Ruiz de Lera said that the reliable nature of cheap holidays in Spain made up a large part of the destination’s appeal to tourist, whether they were from Britain or further abroad.

“Spain is a safe haven for holidaymakers and can offer value for money, glorious weather, security and excellent service – not forgetting hospitality,” he declared.

The Spanish tourist industry has been working assiduously to court customer loyalty, with its biggest market – the UK – the main area of focus.

Mr De Lera went on to say that in the future, the tourist board intends to encourage visitors to sample Spain outside the traditional holiday seasons, alongside promoting parts of the country inland from the famous “costas” and in areas that are perhaps not quite as well known, such as the communities of Castile-La Mancha and Castile and Leon that can be found in the countryside around the capital Madrid.

It is fair to say, though, that sunshine deals such as cheap Tenerife holidays and Majorca holidays, as well as the attractions of the Costa del Sol will continue to be as popular as ever.
